What’s Next For Scott
I’m officially retired — and determined to make the most of my ‘Golden Years.’
I’ve been lucky enough to meet so many great people across Rhode Island over the course of my 40-year career. Most know me through my work as a wetland permitting specialist — I started a company, Natural Resource Services, in 1987 to help homeowners and businesses navigate the complex freshwater wetland and coastal resources permitting process during development projects. However, after 38 years and over 11,000 projects across the state, I’ve finally called it quits.
Now, the real fun starts! It’s time to broaden my horizons and focus on passions that I put off during my working years. I love to drive fun cars, discover hidden gems close to home, work on my farm, build stone walls, umpire Little League baseball games, and write about all these things. This website is dedicated to this new, exciting phase of my life. I hope you enjoy reading about my adventures as much as I enjoyed experiencing them.

Jaunts & Road Trips
I’ve already started on my first retirement project: Taking day trips to hidden gems all around Rhode Island — and writing about them as I go.

Farm Stuff
I’ve own a farm in Rhode Island, and I’m excited to finally be able to tend it. I’ve got big plans for the garden, alpacas, and honeybees this summer.

Stone Walls
Six years ago, I took a stone-walling class, and I’ve been fascinated with the ancient craft ever since. Now, I finally have time to build some walls.
